Ray Baxter began his serious study of Yoga after a series of injuries left him in daily pain. He brings that experience of healing and his life experience as a biologist, endurance athlete, performer, engineer and parent to his teaching. He believes that our bodies are miraculous gifts that provide us the opportunity to experience the most profound emotions and the deepest insights into ourselves.
Ray strives to create a class environment where each student feels supported and empowered to find their personal path to healing, wholeness and transformation. His classes emphasize play, experimentation and fun, while allowing space to attend to what is happening in your body, mind and heart. His classes are gentle and challenging by turns, focused on precise alignment of the body guided by the breath. You will be encouraged to deepen your understanding of your body, to find and respect your limits and supported in expanding beyond them. He gives thanks to his teachers Darcy Lyon and Stacey Rosenberg, and the lineage of Anusara Yoga.
